The Reactionaries Speak

From an AP article by Philip Elliot:

“The declaration that Obama signed late Friday means Health and Human Services chief Kathleen Sebelius to bypass federal rules when opening alternative care sites, such as offsite hospital centers at schools or community centers, if needed.”

“The declaration, which the White House announced Saturday, allows HHS in some cases to let hospitals relocate emergency rooms offsite to reduce flu-related burdens and to protect noninfected patients.”

The company line at this time is this declaration allows federal red tape to be avoided to facilitate more efficient “treatment” of swine flu.

Looks like the first shot has been fired by Beloved Leader. There is upcoming news that there will be an national/federal emergency called by the White House.

Earlier this year the world was introduced to a scary new version of the flu.  People were dieing in Mexico and the way the media was spinning it the swine flu was about to become the next Black Plague.  Headlines were filled with new updates on the spread and development of H1N1.  What become of this flu?  Besides a couple of bad jokes about pigs flying, not a whole lot.  The buzz died down and people forgot about it….not for long.

Today the big headline on Drudge was all about the swine flu.  What the hell?  Are we really concerned about this again?  So much so skin-to-skin contact is being discouraged.  Since when do you catch the flu by touch.  I understand that they are referring to the transfer of germs, but are we really going to start wearing rubber gloves when we get exposed to this flu.  What’s that say to a ten year old when he’s sick and no one will get close to him unless they are wearing hand condoms?

In high-school one of the very few books I actually read was Animal Farm by George Orwell.  Does anyone remember one of the major themes of that book?  The Pigs used fear to keep control over the rest of the farm.  Fear is the strongest tool to control the masses.

I strongly feel that this Swine Flu is a hollow threat that creates fear.  No the scary question is if this fear is intentional, and this fear is being imposed on us by our government, what kind of control are they trying to impose?  Health care?  Are we getting scared into accepting a new program that gives the government our health care?
