And a tip of the hat to Cowboy Logic.
What she is doing may not be right for you, but you gotta like her spunk!
Sept 28 (Reuters) – The U.S. Treasury plans to kick off a fresh $15 billion liquidity and mortgage bond purchase program to assist state finance agencies providing mortgages to low-income borrowers, Bloomberg said, citing a person familiar with the matter.
The program, administered by mortgage giants Fannie Mae (FNM.N) and Freddie Mac (FRE.N), will buy up to $20 billion in tax-exempt mortgage bonds issued by the state-sponsored housing agencies through the end of the year, and is expected to inject additional liquidity for as long as three years, the agency said.
Reader beware: This may or may not be more of a RANT, than a REACTION.
When I spotted this on Reuters today after digging away for an article that covered this heavily-muffled blurb, I nearly gouged out my eyeballs and fell out of my chair. It is absolutely preposterous for us to fund, with our tax dollars, the government’s repeated efforts to subsidize low-income earners at every turn.
Fannie May and Freddie Mac, along with the support of their DFL pimps, were arguably the single-largest driving factors behind the housing bubble. You know, that same housing bubble that sparked the greatest recession in decades. The housing bubble that was created when our “compassionate” legislators decided that home ownership is a right and not a privilege. The bubble that burst when all of these mortgages- the same mortgages that private banks were forced to provide- went into default. The mortgages that were so broadly distributed through government mandate that they caused a false demand in housing, which has now become a ridiculously unbalanced supply.
And now, Fannie and Freddie breathe new life with a MULTI-BILLION DOLLAR line of credit. A line of credit tailor-made for the same low-income earners that signed up for monthly housing costs of more than half of their incomes.
Now I have nothing against low-income earners. In fact, I am pretty damn close to a low-income earner myself. When you throw in college loans. rent, car payment, utilities, etc. I could even argue that I feel poor at the end of the day. But there is a striking difference that comes into play here. I KNOW I CAN’T AFFORD A HOUSE just yet. I would never go into a mortgage with no-money down like so many of these people have and will. I will never pay more for housing than a set percentage of my income. And I will never sign up for low introductory rates that will adjust several times over the course of the loan, leaving me with unexpected payments.
And now, as a result of the I-buy-shit-I-can’t-afford-on-credit mentality, the rest of us are paying dearly. We are paying massive chunks of our personal income to subsidize houses for people that can’t afford to buy a house. And this is happening while we are simultaneously losing money on our home investments.
This government-created crisis needs a free-market remedy. We need to allow housing prices to adjust to what the market says they should adjust to. We need to massively cut property taxes in order to reduce the hurt this will put on the consumers and we need to reassess property values to make sure taxes are being paid in relation to the true value of the homes we are living in. Most of all, we need to ensure that government keeps its’ hands out of the housing market. The FED has cost us too much money already and we are prolonging the inevitable adjustment that will eventually come.
Its time for us to issue the Federal Government an eviction out of housing industry.
The Jason Lewis Show featured a co-founder of http://www.thefreeenterprisenation.org/ on his show yesterday evening. It strikes my as a very interesting project and I like the idea behind it. The group aims to not only expose government waste but to organize us private business people. I encourage you to read the mission statement, and the ‘Oh My’ segment for a taste of what the site is all about.
Planning on protesting Beloved Leaders healthcare disaster by not playing along?

From Real Clear Politics
Henry Olsen has an article that bears looking at. Find it here.
It lays out what ha happened in the past, and what needs to be done in the future to ensure the current lurch to the left is a blip on the screen of history, much like the failed Presidency of Jimmy Carter.
It is important to learn from the past, from both victories and defeats. The liberals understand that in order to perpetuate their agenda, they need to control the voting blocks of the urban dwellers, traditionally those under the thumb of the welfare state, beholden to the purveyors of the crack that has corrupted generations now. The crack of the Great Society experiment, the crack of the entitlement idea, the crack of vicitmhood. These are a few the linchpins of the Democrats system of control. Others include keeping the population concentrated in the urban areas. The concept of property ownership is something that needs to be beaten down by the Dem’s in order to keep the populous dependent. When people aspire towards ownership, the liberals lose a powerful ally in their fight for control. I’m not talking about the ACORN or CRA methods of ownership either. I’m talking about working for it, and what comes from seeing that dream realised, pride in self.
As is becoming clear, self esteem cannot be given to someone, it must be earned by doing esteem-able things. We have 2-3 generations of namby-pamby little wusses on our hands who have not had to work to achieve anything at all. Like I have been told many times, a little suffering is good for the soul.
It’s time to lay a little suffering on the liberals
Reading Bighollywood today I ran across this article by Bill Whittle.
I hit the jump and went to view the video on PJTV, and was fascinated by the difference in the arguments presented. Thomas Sowell is a deep thinker, way out of my league, I will however have, to go and get a copy of this book to see if I can keep up.
Watch the video, more than once, to get a feeling about what the Unconstrained vision of mankind has brought about, and how our experience right now with it may lead us once again to the brink of revolution.
For a long term I have heard phrases relating in some way or another to the value of life and the lack of time we have here on Earth.
One such phrase however, has finally struck a chord with me. “Life is too short to drink cheap beer.”
As I grow older, I find myself actually experiencing and considering the inevitable. Old friends from school are passing away, I have but one grandparent left, friend’s parents are sick, and on it goes.
And so, with all things considered, I am discontinuing my regular consumption of cheap beer. The pursuit of light, bubbly, watered-down, unsavory, not-so-goodness has become fruitless and ‘hopless.’
In a world that has become linked-in and sped up in every way, why not spend the extra couple bucks, drink a little less, and really take the time to enjoy life.. and enjoy a full-bodied, hand-crafted beer?
Instead of coming home and cracking that keystone light and turning on ESPN, try something different. Slow- pour yourself a hearty brew into your favorite, meticulously maintained mug and sit in silence for a bit. Perhaps read a leather-bound book while breathing in the rich smell of mahogany. Savor the moment!
Always remember, it is inevitable that at some point or another, knowingly or unknowingly, we will drink the last beer of our lifetime. Shouldn’t it be worth it?
From Redstate.com
A copy of Bertha Lewis’ contact list leaked to Redstate.com shows the leader of the embattled ACORN has the ability to contact some White House personnel directly.
“The list contains the private email addresses and cell phones of scores of powerful and influential people from Al Sharpton to Charlie Rangel. It contains several people inside the Barack Obama administration including one of the closest ties to Barack Obama other than his wife.”
This is well worth reading more than once, not because it shows that when Beloved Leader was on his media blitz over the last week, dodging questions about ACORN, there was and is more going on than was expressed by Beloved Leader. It is yet another example of the systemic disinformation coming out of the White House.
Here is what the future holds for us after Cap and Trade.

more to come……
